Flu Vaccination Programme 2010

You may feel that we have not had summer yet but believe it or not, it is flu vaccination season already!

We are expecting this year's flu vaccines at the beginningof October. We will be booking apppointments for clinics soon. If you normally have a seasonal flu vaccination, please contact the surgery for further details from mid Spetember.

Eligibilty for the Seasonal Flu Vaccination Programme

• People aged 65 years and over
• those in the clinical at-risk groups.

What are the at-risk groups?

• Chronic respiratory disease, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or asthma

• Chronic heart disease, such as heart failure,

• Chronic kidney disease, such as kidney failure,

• Chronic liver disease, such as chronic hepatitis,

• Chronic neurological disease, such as Parkinson’s disease,

• Diabetes requiring insulin or oral hypoglycaemic drugs, and

• Immunosuppression (a suppressed immune system), due to disease (such as HIV/ Aids) or treatment ( such as cancer treatment)
